Welcome to the 2005 NASCIO mid-year conference ! This year's mid-year is being held in Washington, D.C. at the Grand Hyatt.   I thought I would jot down some notes and offer my impressions of the conference.  Hope you find them interesting. This is the first time I am attending and not wearing the coveted purlple badge of honor or more formally known as a state CIO badge.  One good note is that I am wearing the black badge of Past President. Why black? Anyway the good news as Past President I don't have to pay any fees, which is nice as I still am not working and the $1500 dollars while worth it, will be put to better use.
