As I write this I'm preparing to begin a new phase in my life. After having served 7 1/2 years as CIO of the State of Connecticut and spending the last 5 months taking some time off and talking with what felt like a million companies about "What's next for Rock?". I have accepted an offer from a company that was my first choice from the beginning.
Thanks to all that were interested in talking with me, many quality companies, but I really had to follow my head, heart, and guts on what would be the best fit for me. The company which I won't name today is in my opinion a great fit. I just couldn’t work for anyone without being passionate about it.
They’re the leading innovator in their space with wonderfully elegant solutions that can really help CIO’s deal with many challenges that they face and I’ve lived with for years. They are doing business in the State & Local space but have never really focused on it. I believe they can have a major impact in S&L with the right focus and education. I seen and met with thousands of companies, and in that time that, this was one of the few that under promised and over delivered on their capabilities. Since that time their technology has only gotten better and more mature.
My new company has great partners some of which I talked with, so I ‘m really excited about the prospects of partnering with many old friends. Once I actually get my contact info I’ll let you all know my new destination. Those that know me well won’t be surprised! Thanks to all !
Some people are more concerned about where they been than where they’re going!
